4-CHANNEL TETHERED SYSTEMS
The 8400 series are Pinnacle's most flexible hardware. The configuration can be easily modified by changing only the preamplifier. Biosensors, optogenetics or an accelerometer can be easily added.

HARDWARE KITS
Pinnacle's hardware kits include a data conditioning and acquisition unit, commutator, mounting plate, free acquisition software, and step-by-step manual guides. Preamplifiers are sold in separate kits based on configuration.

DATA CONDITIONING AND ACQUISITION SYSTEM
The data conditioning and acquisition system (DCAS) performs secondary amplification and filtering before sending data to Pinnacle's Sirenia® Acquisition software for collection via a USB cable.

COMMUTATORS
Pinnacle's commutators provide excellent freedom of movement while maintaining clean and constant electrical signals.
Custom modifications are also available for use with third-party cabling and connection schemes.
MOUSE COMMUTATOR
A low-torque commutator, which is mounted above the cage, allows for unencumbered freedom of movement.
|
|
RAT COMMUTATOR
A P1 commutator is mounted above the cage. The commutator's two-plug setup allows for even rotation of the rotor.

PREAMPLIFIERS
Signals are amplified and filtered at the head of the animal using our preamplifiers, which ensure the delivery of clean, artifact free
data. Have your own amplification or acquisition system? Our analog adapters can be used to connect Pinnacle's preamplifiers with third-party data collection systems.
How Our Preamplifiers Work
Pinnacle's preamplifiers provide differential amplification (x10 or x100) between electrodes. Our standard three and four-channel preamplifiers have two referential channels and one or two differential channels. Fully referential and fully differential versions are also available.

MOUSE PREAMPLIFIERS
A seven-inch cable extends from the commutator and connects to the seven-inch cable of the preamplifier (14 inches total). Six insulated wires are banded together to create this lightweight cable. The mouse preamplifier connects to a headmount via a friction fit. Metal mesh covering available upon request.

|
RAT PREAMPLIFIERS
The preamplifier electronics have an integrated 18-inch cable that connects to the commutator. The cable's wires are protected by a metal spring coil. A P1 screw connector is used to secure the preamplifier to the head of the animal.
