EEG/EMG Systems
Pinnacle offers biopotential recording systems for sleep, seizure and general research paradigms in freely moving mice and rats. Our EEG/EMG systems use head-mounted amplification to produce exceptionally clean waveforms, even during animal movement. We offer wireless & tethered preconfigured three-channel systems. A flexible four-channel tethered system is available which includes the capability to incorporate simultaneous accelerometer, optogenetics or sensor measurements.

3-Channel Systems
Researchers can simultaneously record three channels of EEG and/or EMG data. The data conditioning and acquisition system (DCAS) and preamplifier are preconfigured and ordered as a matching pair. Standard configurations include 2 EEG/1 EMG and 3 EEG.
Tethered Options
Pinnacle's three-channel tethered systems provide a cost-effective solution for researchers who prefer recording in a fixed EEG/EMG configuration. Learn more

4-Channel Systems
This hardware option is among the most flexible of Pinnacle's setups because users can easily modify the configuration by changing only the preamplifier. Users can add optogenetics, an accelerometer or biosensors, or simply change the EEG/EMG channel arrangement.

Sirenia® Acquisition **FREE**
Sirenia® Acquisition provides a single platform for recording data from Pinnacle's hardware systems. The software features synchronization of all data streams, user-configurable settings, data consolidation and multiple export options. In addition, the software includes basic review and analysis modules for biosensor, sleep and seizure recordings. Learn more

Sirenia® Sleep Pro offers automated power analysis, semiautomated scoring methods, and advanced statistical and graphical analysis for investigation of sleep datasets. Users can also customize charts and graphs for use in papers, presentations and everyday research. Learn more
Sirenia® Seizure Pro
Sirenia® Seizure Pro provides a platform for quickly identifying and analyzing user-defined seizure events over a given time period. Once verified, events are logged in a database. EEG/EMG data are automatically analyzed and stored to create customizable reports and graphs of aggregate seizure data. Third-party EDF files can also be imported for analysis. Learn more

Synchronized Video
Integrated video recording provides a platform for synchronizing EEG and EMG changes with observable behavioral states. Video can be added to any new or existing hardware system. Captured video is displayed live on screen as it is streamed from the animal and is synchronized with other recorded data in playback mode. Learn more
Optogenetics
Using light to activate or deactivate specific neuronal pathways is a growing trend in neuroscience research. Optogenetic control systems can be used alone or directly integrated with our four-channel systems. Pinnacle's optogenetic system uses preamplifier-mounted high-intensity LEDs directly coupled to a 200 um optical fiber for precise implantation and targeted light delivery to the brain area of interest. Light pulses can be delivered simultaneously with EEG/EMG recording without disturbing the animal. Tethered and wireless optogenetic systems are available. Learn more
Biosensors
Pinnacle's biosensors can be integrated with EEG and EMG recording using our four-channel system. Biosensor recording allows researchers to directly monitor second-by-second concentration changes in specific CNS analytes within a small brain region. Integrate with EEG recording to visualize and correlate these analyte changes with specific EEG activity. Learn more
Accelerometers
Pinnacle's accelerometer preamplifiers allow researchers to characterize locomotor behaviors with changes in neuronal activity. Correlate EEG measurements with behaviors such as stereotypies, reaction times, grooming, rearing and more. These preamplifiers are ideal for measuring small changes in movement (+/- 2 g) with high temporal resolution (max 500 Hz).
Sleep Deprivation
Pinnacle's automated sleep deprivation and fragmentation system uses a rotating metal bar to gently sleep deprive mice and rats without direct human intervention. It can be programmed to recognize real-time EEG/EMG activity and trigger bar rotation in response to sleep state. Learn more
Analog Adapters
Analog adapters are excellent solutions for researchers who require the low noise provided by Pinnacle's head-mounted preamplifiers and commutators, but who have existing amplification/acquisition systems. The adapters can be used to connect Pinnacle mouse and rat preamplifiers with most third-party data collection systems. Learn more
