David A. Johnson, Ph.D., Vice President, Engineering and Research
Dr. Johnson has more than 20 years experience in the design of electronic circuits and systems. At Pinnacle Technology he has had direct responsibility for the development of electronic systems for a variety of clients including S.C. Johnson Inc., Microchip Technology, Alexander Technologies, Inc, iSense Inc., and Legacy Health Systems. Systems developed on a contract basis range from biomedical products, to wireless actuators and battery chargers. While at Pinnacle Dr. Johnson has also supervised the development of several in-house products including a internet based temperature and relative humidity datalogger (www.pinnaclet.com/ez.htm), several potentiostats (www.pinnaclet.com/biq/ and www.pinnaclet.com/biq/rathat.htm ) and a USB based EEG/EMG recording system. As a Senior Process Engineer for Microchip Technology in Chandler, AZ, he was directly responsible for process design of the microcontrollers and non-volatile (EPROM, EEPROM) memories. His embedded electronics and software experience is extensive, including the development of numerous control, data acquisition/analysis and networking subsystems. For the past 5 years he has also taught Integrated Circuit (VLSI) Design and Energy Conversion at the University of Kansas on an adjunct basis. Dr. Johnson's software experience includes code development on numerous hardware platforms and in a variety of languages, including Java, C, assembly, various scripting languages and programming packages including National Instruments LabView.
