BIOSENSOR RECORDING SYSTEMS

Pinnacle offers a suite of biosensor recording systems depending on need and experiment type. Turn-key solutions are available for biosensor recordings in mice and rats and all systems are compatible with Pinnacle’s line of biosensors.

TYPES OF SYSTEMS:
DESKTOP POTENTIOSTAT

Pinnacle’s 8102 four-channel desktop potentiostat provides a cost-effective easy-to-use and highly accurate system for a wide range of measurement applications. The 8102 is particularly well-suited for use in high-impedance biosensor and biosensor array neurochemical measurements.

TETHERED

Pinnacle’s 8401 data conditioning and acquisition system (DCAS) features four data channels configurable to fit researcher’s needs. This system has been utilized to provide a turn-key solution for biosensor recordings in mice. .

The tethered system employs a head mounted 2-channel biosensor preamplifier to measure two biosensors simultaneously in one animal. Data are passed through a low-torque commutator and into the 8401 DCAS for final stage conditioning. The 8401 DCAS interfaces with Pinnacle’s acquisition software on a Windows based PC via USB.

WIRELESS

Pinnacle offers complete systems for wireless acquisition and recording of biosensor data. Depending on experimental needs, two wireless systems are available for purchase.

FIXED FREQUENCY WIRELESS POTENTIOSTAT SYSTEM
Recommended for 1-3 simultaneous in vivo biosensor recordings and utilizes an one-to-one ratio of base station to potentiostat per animal.

FREQUENCY AGILE SYSTEM
Pinnacle’s solution for high capacity studies. It is designed to allow communication of eight wireless potentiostats with a single base station. Users also have the ability to place multiple base stations in the same recording area, providing researchers a platform to perform high capacity biosensor studies.

CALIBRATION

In order to relate the in vivo current changes measured by a biosensor to actual changes in analyte concentration, it is necessary to calibrate the biosensor immediately at the conclusion of the in vivo experiment. Pinnacle offers a number of in vitro calibration systems to allow the simultaneous calibration of up to four biosensors.
