TETHERED SYSTEMS FOR RATS
Pinnacle’s tethered 8200 RAT SYSTEM gives researchers the ability to record three channels of EEG or EMG data. Standard configurations include 2 EEG/1 EMG channels for sleep or seizure and 3 EEG channels for seizure. The 8200 system is designed to deliver the cleanest, artifact free waveforms through the use of a headmounted preamplifier. The Pinnacle RAT PREAMPLIFIER (#8213) connects to both the rat headmount and commutator (#8214) via a Plastics One MS363 6-pin screw down fitting. EEG and EMG waveforms are amplified before being transmitted to the 8206 Data Conditioning and Acquisition System (DCAS). Users may select low pass filter and gain settings. Complete hardware kits are available for purchase and include a commutator, preamplifier, data conditioning and acquisition system, and all necessary cables, software and manuals.

Pinnacle’s SIRENIA™ acquisition & review software is FREE of charge. Advanced comprehensive analysis packages will be available for purchase in the future. Data can be exported in .EDF format.

Pinnacle offers headmounts (#8239) to reduce surgery time and enhance electrical connections for 2 EEG/1 EMG recordings. The headmount utilizes a Plastics One MS363 pedestal base mounted on top of a 9mm x 9mm board with EEG and EMG leads attached. EEG leads are connected to Pinnacle’s 1/8” screws with wire lead (#8247) to measure cortical activity. The EMG leads are ready for muscular implantation.
